Dear Customers and Friends;
In twenty plus years in business, I have learned several things. Perhaps the two most important lessons I have learned are to listen to customers and to conquer difficult decisions. I have been doing a lot of both, especially lately.
Through listening to you, my loyal customers, I have learned that you value, above all else, the museum quality picture framing that we have been providing for more than twenty years. We repeatedly hear that our framing services exceed all expectations and rival what you would expect in a much larger metropolitan area. We thank you for entrusting us with your treasures, and we hope that you have been, and will continue to be, happy with the framing services that we provide.
Although the "Gallery" portion of Johnson Gallery and Framing Studio has always been stimulating, fun, rewarding and profitable, I have reached the very difficult decision to discontinue this aspect of the business. We have had outstanding and memorable openings, lectures and events, and I must thank my customers and artists for attending these events, buying artwork, and supporting Johnson Gallery through the years. Without you I could not have realized my dreams.
The dream is not ending, it is just changing paths. By focusing 100% of our energy on framing, I can revitalize some of the fabulous techniques and effects that I had to stop offering long ago due to a lack of time. We pride ourselves on top notch quality and service on even the most simple jobs. But hand carved and French mats, gold leafing and other complex techniques are all unique skills that can only be accomplished by an experienced craftsperson. I look forward to once again implementing such techniques on your special projects.
Johnson Gallery at 547 Marsh Street will be closing on December 23. Around February 1, 2006, Johnson Framing Studio will reopen at 3563 Sueldo Street, Unit N @ Granada Drive. We will have a small but beautiful shop, designed specifically for picture framing. Johnson Framing Studio will be better than ever, and will be positioned for a strong and profitable future. The enclosed brochure should answer your questions about our new location, hours and services.

I would love to visit with each one of you personally, but under the circumstances I will be impossibly busy with my new plans. I welcome your notes and e-mails, but I probably just won't have time for personal visits. I look forward to seeing you in the new studio next year.
Until then, come in one last time to see if we have any arty things you can¹t live without.
Peace.
